About Dan

The Journey Fountain Hills

Originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, I attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where I majored in Civil Engineering and lettered in Baseball.

I went on to earn an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

My professional career began in Chicago at Coopers & Lybrand, now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers, where I earned my CPA license (currently inactive). I later worked with private real estate developers and eventually joined The Mitroff Group of companies. Over the next 25 years, our team zoned 18 subdivisions totaling nearly 1,000 residential units and developed approximately 800 homes, along with a grocery-anchored shopping center.

The journey to Fountain Hills culminated in 2011, when I joined Whitestone REIT as Director of Leasing. In 2013 I was promoted to Regional Vice President, and in this role, assumed responsibility for the Fountain Hills Basha’s Center along with 2.5 million square feet of retail space throughout the Valley. I have been a Fountain Hills resident since 2012 and have served on the Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission since October 2019, currently in my second year as Chairman.
